We first met over 24 years ago at a gym in Durham, NC—shortly after Erica left the military and Tracy was beginning his career in probation and parole. We dated for about six months, then went our separate ways and married other people. By chance we kept running into each other over the years and would catch up on life. Fast forward to 2020: on June 24 in Nashville, Tennessee, we reconnected. Tracy was there for his daughter’s 16th birthday and Erica was there for the birth of her first granddaughter. Erica saw Tracy’s post on Facebook and sent a message asking if he’d like to meet for lunch. We met, and promised to have a “real date” once we were back in North Carolina. Three months later we met in Durham for dinner and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. This journey took six years to bring us here and seven years to marry again. We’re praying for a lifetime of marital bliss and lots of travel, and we can’t wait to celebrate our most intimate day with our closest friends and family.
